SPRING 2018  MARCH Spring Training

Spring season is right around the corner. That means SFYS spring training kicks in and we are providing an exciting March line up for your player! February 5v5's were all about providing your player the much needed game play time. March is about focusing on technical development and preparing for the coming season*!

Each week the clinic will be structured with different skill stations for your player to be challenged, technically. Foundation skills that help every player succeed on the field such as dribbling, passing, defending, and scoring will be focused on. We want your player to have confidence on the field and with the ball at their feet. That confidence helps them excel and love the game even more!

60 minutes with us on a Sunday:

  • A welcome, roster check
  • Rotating stations
  • 4v4 games that FOCUS on the skill learned!
  • SOCCER! Cheer and dismissal.

* Most teams only have one practice and the coach has a lot to prepare the team for!
Also, if your player is not on a spring team, you are still invited to join us!

Due to limited field space and high demand, we have created combined two grade slots with limited availability.

  • Please arrive 15min before your session to check in.
  • Bring a Soccer ball, water, and be dressed ready to play Soccer.
  • Shoes can be tennis shoes or 'boots'.

This clinic is on offer to all players who want to work on their technical skills. There will be a lot of individual practice in each skill station for your player to master skills and techniques.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR MY PLAYER?

This will be a focused skill session, with little to no breaks in play. Playing with this focus will relieve pressure on the player and allow them to get more practice at developing these skills. Players will rest in between rotating stations and before scrimmaging. We always end with scrimmages and the coaches will encourage your player to focus on the skills learned during the skill stations. Each week will be a progression for your player, building them up for a successful season. Note, we believe it is important to develop these skills early on so players have confidence in the game situations thus enjoying playing for years to come.
