Parents & Players must review the CDC Concussion Protocol.

During the online registration process, parents will be required to agree to the following policy, per the California state requirement that all players and their parents be aware of concussion risks:

We all know that some children can suffer head injuries, whether it's from head to head contact, head to ground contact, or head to ball contact.

San Francisco Youth Soccer follows the policy of the CDC, the US Soccer Federation and SAY Soccer. We insist that all coaches and parents be familiar with the signs, symptoms, and warnings of possible concussions. This includes the stages of seeking emergency care or medical attention, and receiving a medical release from a doctor before returning to the field.

Team Managers and Coaches must complete the training annually.

The Center for Disease Control and their Prevention Heads Up Concussion in Youth Sports Online training program, which is at http://www.cdc.gov/headsup/youthsports/training/index.html

  • Click on the online training course button to begin your training. After successfully completing the on-line training, you will be offered an opportunity to print out a personalized "certificate of completion”. Coaches, a copy of this certificate should be uploaded to your registration profile.
