SFYS Director of Programming, Lee Dunne spent the last 6 years as a Regional Director for Challenger Sports to create coach and player development programs as well as supply coach education for the NSCAA and regional clubs. He has multiple licenses, including the USSF C and the NSCAA Premier Diploma.

3/12 - Coaching Clinic - Moves Like Messi - Teach your players the top 5 moves to be successful in any situation: Cruyff / Pull back - when faced up, or when a defender or pressure on one side of the body, Matthews - when running at a player, Inside hook, Outside hook, Maradona
3/19 - Coaching Clinic - Individual and Team Possession - Reflection on MLM session last week. Using those skills to maintain possession. 1v1’s; 2v2’s - don’t have to pass; 4v4 small-sided games and up.
3/26 - Coaching Clinic - Training the Goalkeeper - Goalkeeper shot stopping techniques and angle of play. Involving the goalkeeper in practice. Making saves and attacking the ball.
4/2 - Coaching Clinic - Small-sided games to work on attack and defense. End of clinic reporting will state which sessions were worked on and what key points were made
4/9 - Coaching Clinic - Building from the Back. Technical focus for players when receiving - opening up, breaking lines or pressure. 1v1 with receiving from either side.
SF Youth Soccer are proud to present a second year series of supplemental clinics for both coaches and players, Sunday afternoons this Spring at Ft. Scott in the Presidio.
Each clinic will be comprised of two one-hour sessions. There will be five clinics for coaches and five for youth players, ages U9-U14.
COACH CLINIC DETAILS
4/23 - Player Clinic - Dribbling and Running with the Ball. The technique for dribbling. The technique for running with the ball, like Ronaldo. When should you dribble and when should you run with the ball. Beating the defender with your dribble vs. beating the defender when you are running with the ball
4/30 - Player Clinic - Turns and moves with the ball. Introducing Turns like Tevez, moves like Messi, skills like Suarez. Using the skills to deal with: How to deal with a defender in front of you and behind you; How to deal with a defender running at you; Being successful in 1v1 and 2v2 situations
5/7 - Player Clinic - Passing & Receiving - Combinations with your teammates in small spaces, including Overlaps, Wall passes, and third-man runs. Small-sided games of 2v1’s and 3v2’s to score goals
5/14 - Player Clinic - Defending - Stopping the Attack. Stopping the attacker in different situations: 1v1 when you are behind them, or if they are running at you; 1v2 defending - providing cover to your team mate
5/21 - Player Clinic - Decision Making in Small-sided Games. Small-sided games with varying rules and set ups to challenge you in various formats in defending, attacking, and scoring goals!

ABOUT OUR PROFESSIONAL TRAINERS
The professional trainers for the player clinics are from two organizations:
- Challenger Sports
- UK International Soccer
The trainers from each organization have been hired to deliver these player clinics as impartial professionals. The trainers are primarily from the UK and are hired to work in the USA for their expertise and commitment to the game of Soccer. They will all follow the same practice themes and plans, tailored to the level of player in the group.
Groups will be predetermined by the registration list and players split primarily by age at first. We are open to grouping players on the same team / friends / siblings - just notify the field marshal and the coach of the group.
Check in begins at 12.45pm at the field with Field Marshal. They will have the bright yellow pinnie on with SFYS on it.
